O worm supreme: A year-long exhibition held in the forest
Groupexhibition at TUO TUO, 2020, Joutsa.
About JUUSTONAKSUPANSSARI:
A shelter that helps one to prevent self destruction, calms down. JUUSTONAKSUPANSSARI is a self-help item. It is made for the purpose of its owner and it’s purpose will continue when it will be torn apart into soft pieces during the year in the forest, as it’ll be snacked on by the birds and whoever finds the sculpture filled with human and dog hair interesting and helpful.
About the exhibition:
Honor the maggot,
supreme catalyst:
they spur the rate of change.*Among thickets of elder trees, tucked into mossy pockets, exposed to wild winds, bitter rains and fungal brutes –– each piece transforms with the seasons and new forms emerge. O worm supreme is a group exhibition presenting artworks from 29 different artists. Located on the grounds of TUO TUO Kulttuuri Tila & Residency in Joutsa, this outdoor art exhibition remains open to the public for a whole year. To fully experience the metamorphosis of the artworks, it is encouraged to revisit the exhibition each season.Consider this an offering, some laud transformation and others decay. We recognize nature’s continuum from numerous posts, but nevertheless we honor the earthworm.
Artists:
Anna Niskanen, Anne Lehtelä, Aura Latva-Somppi, Benjamin Nozdrachev, César, Ropponen-Brunel, Christine Valtonen, Diana Pereyra, Eeva Lietonen, Elina Laitinen, Emil Lyytikkä, Sadet Hirsimäki, Essi Nieminen, Eva Lamppu, Frans Nybacka, Gladys Camilo, Heikki Lotvonen, Helen Korpak, Iina Esko, Inka Kynkäänniemi, Jari Koho, Judith Gebhardt, Julio Lugon, Kati Peltola, Kristian Palmu, Liina Aalto-Setälä, Lotta Blomberg, Milla Aska, Riikka Hongisto and Toni Elg.
