RiistaLive, Kevät

Artists gather at the Eura Canoe Club. The photographer invites everyone on the dock for a group photo. People position themselves to be photographed and the boat driver has just arrived at the shore and is signaling in the direction of Kalasaari.

Hunajanjyvä’s performance Riista Live, Spring took place at the canoe club’s lakeside shed at lake Pyhäjärvi, instead of the planned venue on the island. Kalasaari, located in Kauttuanlahti, had a movement and landing ban during the bird nesting season from April 1st to July 31st. Between the canoe club and the island lies a wide, continuous expanse of open lake.

The audience could watch the performance live online Friday 31 May at 10pm on the Hunajanjyvä’s Twitch channel. Three live performances were be held as part of the event: Orpokotijuhlat Saarella (Lauri Ainala ja Teemu Eerola), Pirjo Hamm-Hakamäki’s and Iiris Kamari’s performances.

Riista Live, Spring reflects on the artist’s confined space in the society. Hunajanjyvä’s Riista Live is a new performance space and a series of performance works that focuses on exploring new ways of making and presenting, encounters between different art forms, and performativity.
